Don’t forget to check out the results of MoveOn‘s primary election for the Democratic Presidential nomination.  In a nutshell, Dean won with almost 44% of the votes, but 50% was required to get an endorsement from MoveOn.

Although I signed up on California’s Do Not Call registry back in March, the info didn’t make it to the now-active national list as was supposed to happen.  It’s possible that it just wasn’t submitted yet but, rather than risk it, signing up at the actual national Web site seems like a better idea.

It now says that my registration will be effective until 7/1/2008.

On a similar note, consumers who used Yahoo Mail e-mail accounts to register for the service were met with an ironic twist Friday — Yahoo’s spam filter intercepted confirmation messages sent from FTC servers.  The service doesn’t finish registering you unless you respond to the e-mail within 72 hours. 

This is an example of why I turn off both Yahoo and Hotmail’s anti-spam filters.  Of course, that also explains the 57 spams I received on Hotmail since yesterday morning.  I don’t get any spam on my main email address that goes only to friends and is never used to sign up for anything on a website.

By the way, what is the correct spelling on that last word, or is it words?  According to Dictionary.com:

On another subject:  It sure is hard to get started doing this after stopping for a while. So much news, so little motivation to distill it down into read-sized morsels.

The grassroots Repuglican effort to “recall” Gray Davis in California is doing so because they said, “He has lied to the people, he has taken an economic surplus and turned it into a huge deficit, the unemployment rate has risen to all time highs, and he’s done a generally poor job for California!” Hmmm, I wonder if they realize their boy Bush has done all this and more on a national basis?

That was quoted from Barbara’s Daily BuzzFlash Minute that appeared on June 16.  If you’re not sure about signing the recall, ask yourself if California can afford the bill for the election and how much say there would be in who replaces Davis.

It’s nice having a comfortable chair in front of a working computer again.  Spending time catching up on news, getting upset at all the political garbage.

The computer finally went into the shop — after a reformat and using just Windows drivers, it had to be a hardware problem.  They had it almost two weeks and never could identify the problem because everything was testing good most of the time.  In the end, they gave up and replaced the hard drive, RAM and motherboard.  They never complained about the extra hardware I had installed (including some of the RAM they replaced).  They just fixed it all under warranty 2.5 years after I bought it.  And I also bought it for a good price.  So if you are local to Ventura County and are looking for a good computer shop, try All-City Computers in Camarillo.

Don’t expect much here for a while because I’m still going off camping and trying to sell a house.  The 20,000 pound Mountain Table (construction pics here and here) is done, so I have to go make some music for the Mountain Party before I head up there.
